Showtime Announces Premiere Date for Limited Series 'A Gentleman in Moscow' Starring Ewan McGregor

Showtime has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original limited series A Gentleman in Moscow starring Ewan McGregor.

The 8-episode limited series will debut on Sunday, March 31 at 9/8c. Episodes will be available to stream for subscribers of the Paramount+ with Showtime plan on Fridays at midnight before they make their linear debut.

In the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, Count Alexander Rostov (McGregor) finds that his gilded past has placed him on the wrong side of history. Spared immediate execution, he is banished by a Soviet tribunal to an attic room in the opulent Hotel Metropol and threatened with death if he ever sets foot outside again. As the years pass and some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history unfold outside the hotel's doors, Rostov's reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery. As he builds a new life within the walls of the hotel, he discovers the true value of friendship, family and love.

In addition to McGregor, the series stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alexa Goodall, Johnny Harris, Fehinti Balogun, Leah Harvey, Paul Ready, John Heffernan, Lyès Salem, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Dee Ahluwalia and Anastasia Hille.

Ben Vanstone developed the series based on the novel by Amor Towles. They executive produce with McGregor, Tom Harper, Sharon Hughff, Pancho Mansfield, Xavier Marchand and director Sam Miller. Lionsgate Television, Popcorn Storm Pictures and Moonriver Television produce.
