Amazon Renews 'Cross' for Season 2

Ahead of the drama's series debut later this year, Amazon has handed out an early Season 2 renewal to its original drama series Cross starring Aldis Hodge.

Based on the series of novels by James Patterson, Alex Cross (Hodge) is a detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify - and ultimately capture - the murderers.

In addition to Hodge, the first season stars Ryan Eggold, Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Johnny Ray Gill, Eloise Mumford and Siobhan Murphy. A premiere date for the first season has not yet been announced. Meanwhile, Wes Chatham, Matthew Lillard and Jeanine Mason have been cast for the second season.

Chatham (The Expanse) will play Donnie, a hard-edged military veteran turned farmer with far-right political views and sensitive heart. Lillard (Good Girls) will play Lance, a ruthless, self-made business tycoon. Mason (Roswell, New Mexico) will play Rebecca, a brilliant, ambitious and vengeful judge.

Ben Watkins developed the drama. He executive produces with Patterson, Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, Craig Siebels, Bill Robinson, Patrick Santa, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Bill Bost and director Nzingha Stewart. Hodge serves as a producer. Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television Studios, Skydance Television and James Patterson Entertainment produce.
