Amazon's Blade Runner 2099; FOX's Rescue: HI-Surf; FX's Grotesquerie; NBC's Chicago Fire; and Netflix's Wednesday.





AMAZON's BLADE RUNNER 2099
  • Michelle Yeoh will play the lead role in the upcoming drama - a spinoff of the feature film franchise. She won an Academy Award in 2022 for her performance in the film Everything Everywhere All at Once. She will next star in the Paramount+ film Star Trek: Section 31. She is also slated to appear in the upcoming Wicked and Avatar feature films.
  • No details were immediately announced about the character she will be playing.
FOX's RESCUE: HI-SURF
  • Shawn Hatosy and Ian Anthony Dale have booked recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Arielle Kebbel. Hatosy previously starred for five seasons in NBC/TNT's Southland and six seasons in TNT's Animal Kingdom. Dale starred for three seasons in CBS' Hawaii Five-0, three seasons in TNT's Murder in the First and two seasons in CBS' Salvation.
  • Hatosy will play Clayton Emerson, a natural politician and the father of rookie lifeguard Kainalu (Alex Aiono). Councilman Emerson is a shoe-in as the next Mayor of Honolulu, a position that can work to his and Sonny's (Robbie Magasiva) mutual advantage when it comes to getting things they want.
  • Dale will play Sean Harimoto, a local fireman who winds up working with Em (Kebbel) on a rescue. Impressed by her fearless approach towards her job, Sean is interested in getting to know her better.
NBC's CHICAGO FIRE
  • Original series regular Eamonn Walker will be departing the main cast of the drama after 12 seasons. He will make his exit during the drama's upcoming season finale on Wednesday, May 22. However, options will likely remain open for him to make recurring guest appearances in the future if he wants.
  • Walker has played Wallace Boden since the drama's series premiere in October 2012. He originally served as the Battalion Chief of Battalion 25. In Season 10, he was promoted to Deputy District Chief. In recent episodes of Season 12, he is up for another promotion to Deputy Fire Commissioner.
NETFLIX's WEDNESDAY
  • Production on the dramedy's upcoming second season commenced today in Ireland. Moreover, the streamer announced a list of cast additions for the new season as well as returning cast members promoted to regular roles.
  • Returning cast members upped to series regulars include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.
  • New series regulars are Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), Billie Piper (I Hate Suzie), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill), Owen Painter (Tiny Beautiful Things) and Noah Taylor (A Small Light). 
  • New guest stars include Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Frances O'Connor (The Missing), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method), Heather Matarazzo (Scream) and Joonas Suotamo (Solo: A Star Wars Story).
FX's GROTESQUERIE
  • Travis Kelce will appear in the upcoming drama starring Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville. He has been a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013 - winning the Super Bowl in 2020, 2023 and 2024. He made his acting debut hosting NBC's Saturday Night Live in March 2023. He recently signed on to host Amazon's reboot of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?. He also co-hosts the podcast New Heights with his brother Jason Kelce, a former NFL center.
  • No details were immediately announced about the character he will be playing.
