HBO Sets Premiere Date for New Comedy 'Fantasmas' Created by and Starring Julio Torres

HBO has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series Fantasmas created by and starring Julio Torres.

The 6-episode first season will debut on Friday, June 7 at 11/10c.

Julio spins a fantastical tale of when he lost a gold oyster earring. In his search to find the precious object, he reflects on the offbeat characters he encounters in introspective, often eerie, and always comedic vignettes set in a dreamy, alternate version of New York City. A kaleidoscope of color and surrealism, the series weaves together stories of people looking for meaning, purpose, and connection in an increasingly isolating world.

In addition to Torres, the comedy stars Martine Gutierrez, Tomas Matos and Joe Rumrill.

Guest stars appearing in the first season include Steve Buscemi, Paul Dano, Julia Fox, Alexa Demie, Emma Stone, Aidy Bryant, Bowen Yang, Kim Petras and Ziwe.

Torres executive produces the comedy with Emma Stone, Dave McCary, Alex Bach, Daniel Powell and Olivia Gerke. Fruit Tree, Irony Point and 3 Arts Entertainment produce.
