Showtime Renews 'The Chi' for Season 7

Ahead of the drama's sixth season returning later this month, Showtime has renewed its original drama series The Chi for a seventh season. Production will begin this month as well in Chicago.






The drama stars Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Birgundi Baker, Luke James and Curtiss Cook.

Lena Waithe created the drama, with Justin Hillian and Jewel Coronel serving as co-showrunners. All three executive produce with Common, Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Derek Dudley, Shelby Stone and Rishi Rajani. 20th Television, Kapital Entertainment, ID8 Multimedia and Hillman Grad Productions produce.

The first half of the drama's sixth season aired in August and September 2023. The second half will premiere streaming on Paramount+ on Friday, May 10 with its linear debut coming on Showtime on Sunday, May 12 at 9/8c.
