ABC Renews '9-1-1,' 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'The Rookie,' 'Shifting Gears' and 'Will Trent'

ABC has today renewed five of its original scripted series - 9-1-1, Grey's Anatomy, The Rookie, Shifting Gears and Will Trent. All five series will return as part of the broadcast network's upcoming 2025-26 schedule.






9-1-1 stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman and Gavin McHugh.

Showrunner Tim Minear executive produces with Bassett, Krause, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Juan Carlos Coto, Kristen Reidel, Lyndsey Beaulieu, Alexis Martin Woodall, John J. Gray and Bradley Buecker. 20th Television, Ryan Murphy Television, Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision and Dreamworks produce.

The renewal is for the drama's ninth season, which will produce 18 episodes. This will be the drama's third overall season to air on ABC. The drama spent its first six seasons on FOX.

Grey's Anatomy stars Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone, Camilla Luddington, Jason George, Kim Raver, Chris Carmack, Anthony Hill, Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane and Niko Terho.

Showrunner Meg Marinis executive produces with Pompeo, Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Debbie Allen. 20th Television, Lionsgate Television and Shondaland produce.

The renewal is for the drama's 22nd season, which will produce 18 episodes.

The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O'Neil, Eric Winter, Mekia Cox, Shawn Ashmore, Jenna Dewan and Lisseth Chavez.

Showrunner Alexi Hawley executive produces with Fillion, Mark Gordon, Michelle Chapman, Bill Norcross and Brynn Malone. 20th Television, Lionsgate Television and Perfectman Pictures produce.

The renewal is for the drama's eighth season, which will produce 18 episodes.

Shifting Gears stars Tim Allen, Kat Dennings, Seann William Scott, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins and Barrett Margolis.

Showrunner Michelle Nader executive produces with Allen, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, John Pasquin, Jim Patterson, Bob Daily and John Amodeo. Dennings is a producer. 20th Television produces.

The renewal is for the comedy's second season, which will produce 10 episodes.

Will Trent stars Ramón Rodríguez, Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Jake McLaughlin, Sonja Sohn and Gina Rodriguez.

Co-showrunners Liz Heldens and Daniel Thomsen executive produce with Rodríguez, Karin Slaughter, Oly Obst, Howard Deutch and Ellen Marie Blum. 20th Television and 3 Arts Entertainment.

The renewal is for the drama's fourth season, which will produce 18 episodes.
