Casting News - HBO Finds Its Three Young Leads for 'Harry Potter'; 'Little House on the Prairie' Adds Jocko Sims; Plus 3 More Updates!

AMC's Dark Winds; AppleTV+'s Imperfect Women; Disney+'s Vision; HBO's Harry Potter; and Netflix's Little House on the Prairie.





HBO's HARRY POTTER
  • Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout will play the lead roles in the upcoming drama based on the series of novels by J.K. Rowling. All three are newcomers who secured the roles after casting directors saw tens of thousands of auditions.
  • McLaughlin will play Harry Potter, a young orphan who discovers he is a wizard. The character was played by Daniel Radcliffe in the film franchise.
  • Stanton will play Hermione Granger, Harry's best friend. The character was played by Emma Watson in the film franchise.
  • Stout will play Ron Weasley, Harry's best friend. The character was played by Rupert Grint in the film franchise.
NETFLIX's LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE
  • Jocko Sims, Warren Christie, Wren Zhawenim Gotts, Meegwun Fairbrother, Alyssa Wapanatâhk and Xander Cole have joined the cast of the upcoming drama based on the novels by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Sims previously starred for five seasons in TNT's The Last Ship and five seasons in NBC's New Amsterdam. Christie recurred on NBC's Chicago Fire, FOX's The Resident and The CW's Batwoman. Gotts recurred on Disney+'s Echo. Fairbrother starred for four seasons in The CW's Burden of Truth. Wapanatâhk recurred on The CW's Riverdale and starred in the film Peter Pan & Wendy. Cole appeared in the short film You Can Take It With You.
  • Sims will play Dr. George Tann, a generous and kind-hearted man with a charming bedside manner that makes him a connector within the community.
  • Christie will play John Edwards, a Civil War veteran from Tennessee. He is a gregarious and mysterious man who catches the eye of every single woman in the county (maybe some of the married ones, too).
  • Gotts will play Good Eagle, the daughter of Mitchell and White Sun. She is wildly imaginative and is known as a storyteller in her family.
  • Fairbrother will play Mitchell, a tender-hearted man who lives in Kansas with his family, where he became a successful farmer and built the most impressive homestead in the county.
  • Wapanatâhk will play White Sun, who is opinionated, beautiful, and has a sharp sense of humor. At times, she sees the world through a more cynical lens than her husband, Mitchell.
  • Cole will play Little Puma, White Sun's younger brother. He is good-hearted, but bull-headed, and is trying to find his place in the world. He loves his big sister but also loves getting under her skin.
AMC's DARK WINDS
  • Isabel DeRoy-Olson and Luke Barnett have been added to the cast of the drama's upcoming fourth season. DeRoy-Olson previously starred in the film Fancy Dance and guest starred on Hulu's Under the Bridge. Barnett guest starred on CBS' NCIS: Los Angeles, AppleTV+'s For All Mankind and FOX's 9-1-1: Lone Star.
  • DeRoy-Olson will play Billie Tsosie, a decisive and resourceful Navajo teenager who wants nothing more than the freedom to connect with her people outside of her boarding school. When her cousin takes her out of school, she finds herself quickly in over her head with only her cunning and resilience keeping her alive.
  • Barnett will play FBI Special Agent Toby Shaw, who arrives searching for answers to a mystery involving one of his friends. Loyal to the bureau, he finds himself in deep with Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten).
APPLE TV+'s IMPERFECT WOMEN
  • Wilson Bethel, Keith Carradine and Jackson Kelly have landed recurring roles on the upcoming limited series starring Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington and Kate Mara. Bethel previously starred for four seasons in The CW's Hart of Dixie and three seasons in CBS/OWN's All Rise. Carradine starred for six seasons in CBS' Madam Secretary and recurred on FX's Fargo. Kelly recurred on Max's The Pitt, Syfy's Chucky and CBS' Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.
  • Bethel will play Scott. Carradine will play RL Hennessy. Kelly will play Marcus.
DISNEY+'s VISION
  • T'Nia Miller has joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel drama starring Paul Bettany. She previously starred in the HBO limited series Years and Years, in the Netflix limited series The Haunting of Bly Manor, and in the Netflix limited series The Fall of the House of Usher. She also recurred on AppleTV+'s Foundation and Netflix's The Diplomat.
  • She will reportedly play Jocasta. No details were officially announced though.
