CBS has today decided to cancel its original drama series The Equalizer after five season. The season finale this Sunday, May 4 will now serve as the drama's final episode.
The drama starred Queen Latifah, Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira, Laya DeLeon Hayes and Lorraine Toussaint.
Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller developed the drama based on the 1980s series of the same name. They executive produced with Queen Latifah, Joseph C. Wilson, Adam Glass, John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Richard Lindheim, Shakim Compere and Loretha Jones. CBS Studios, Universal Television, Davis Entertainment, Martin Chase Productions, Milmar Pictures and Flavor Unit Television produced.
Notably, all four original drama series cancelled by CBS this spring have come from outside studios. Universal Television was the lead studio on The Equalizer, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted. Meanwhile, S.W.A.T. came from Sony Television.
