The CW has today acquired the stateside broadcast rights to the original Canadian drama series Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. The 10-episode first season will air on the broadcast network this fall.
The drama follows the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit's detective duo, Detective Sergeants Henry Graff and Frankie Bateman, as they investigate high-profile homicides in Canada's largest metropolis. Their unique investigative skills are showcased through psychological tactics, with a heavy focus on the motives and actions of the criminals. These cases delve into the worlds of high finance, politics, real estate, media, and more.
The drama stars Aden Young, Kathleen Munroe, K.C. Collins and Karen Robinson.
Tassie Cameron developed the drama based on the American format created by Dick Wolf and René Balcer. She executive produces with Erin Haskett, Amy Cameron, Alex Patrick and David Valleau. Universal International Studios, Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures produce.
The 10-episode first season debuted on CityTV in February 2024. The 10-episode second season returned this spring with the season finale set to air this Thursday, May 15. It has already been renewed for a third season in Canada.
"Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent is the next gripping chapter of one of the greatest and most recognizable broadcast television brands of all time, and we can't wait to bring this series to The CW this fall," said Brad Schwartz, President, The CW Network.
