Prime Video has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Butterfly starring Daniel Dae Kim.
All six episodes of the first season will be available on Wednesday, August 13.
Based on the graphic novel series by Arash Amel, the character-driven spy thriller explores complex family dynamics within the treacherous world of global espionage. It's centered on David Jung (Kim), an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him. He finds himself pursued by Rebecca, a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him, and Caddis, the sinister spy organization she works for.
In addition to Kim, the drama stars Reina Hardesty, Piper Perabo and Louis Landau.
Recurring guest stars include Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, Charles Parnell, Sean Dulake, Nayoon Kim, Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa.
Ken Woodruff and Steph Cha developed the drama. They executive produce with Kim, Amel, John Cheng, Stephen Christy, Ross Richie and director Kitao Sakurai. Amazon MGM Studios, BOOM! Studios, 3AD and The Amel Company produce.
