Disney+ Sets Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians'

Disney+ has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of its original drama series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

The 8-episode second season will launch on Wednesday, December 10 with episodes being released weekly.

The upcoming season is based on "The Sea of Monsters," the second installment of the book series by author Rick Riordan. After Camp Half-Blood's protective border is breached, Percy Jackson embarks on an epic odyssey into the Sea of Monsters in search of his best friend Grover and the one thing that may save the camp - the Golden Fleece. With help from Annabeth, Clarisse and his newfound cyclops half-brother Tyson, Percy's survival is crucial in the fight to stop Luke, the Titan Kronos, and their impending plan to bring down Camp Half-Blood - and ultimately, Olympus.

The drama stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer.

Riordan co-created the drama with Jonathan E. Steinberg. They executive produce with Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler and Sarah Watson.

Additionally, production on the third season - based on the novel "The Titan's Cruse" - will begin soon. Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie have been cast as Nico di Angelo and his sister Bianca, the children of Hades.
