Peacock has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series The Paper starring Domhnall Gleeson.
The 10-episode first season will launch on Thursday, September 4 with its first four episodes. Two new episodes will then be released weekly every Thursday until the season finale on September 25.
The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series The Office finds a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher (Gleeson) trying to revive it.
In addition to Gleeson, the comedy stars Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key and Oscar Nuñez.
Guest stars include Eric Rahill, Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr., Nate Jackson and Nancy Lenehan.
Greg Daniels and Michael Koman created the comedy. They executive produce with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein and Ben Silverman. Universal Television, Deedle-Dee Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment and Banijay Americas produce.
