Netflix Reveals Premiere Date for New Dramedy 'Boots' Starring Miles Heizer and Liam Oh

Netflix has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original dramedy series Boots starring Miles Heizer and Liam Oh.

All eight episodes of the first season will be available on Thursday, October 9.

Set in the tough, unpredictable world of the 1990s U.S. Marine Corps - when being gay in the military was still illegal - the series follows directionless, closeted Cameron Cope (Heizer) and his best friend Ray McAffey (Oh), the son of a decorated Marine, as they join a diverse group of recruits. Together, this ensemble navigates the literal and metaphorical landmines of boot camp, forging unlikely bonds and discovering their true selves in an environment designed to push them to their limits. With sharp wit and plenty of heart, Boots is about friendship, resilience, and finding your place in the world - even when that world seems determined to keep you in line or leave you behind.

In addition to Heizer and Oh, the series stars Vera Farmiga, Max Parker, Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, Angus O'Brien, Dominic Goodman, Kieron Moore, Nicholas Logan, Rico Paris and Blake Burt.

Guest stars include Brandon Tyler Moore, Zach Roerig, Anthony Marble, Joy Osmanski, Ivan Hoey Jr., Logan Gould, Jack Kay, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson, Jonathan Nieves and Brett Dalton.

Andy Parker developed the dramedy inspired by the book "The Pink Marine" by Greg Cope White. Parker serves as co-showrunner alongside Jennifer Cecil. They executive produce with the late Norman Lear, Brent Miller, Rachel Davidson, Scott Hornbacher and director Peter Hoar. Sony Pictures Television and Act III Productions produce.
