FX has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of its original comedy series English Teacher.
The second season will launch on Thursday, September 25 at 9/8c. with three back-to-back episodes. On September 26, all 10 episodes will be available to stream under the FX banner on Disney+ and Hulu.
In the new season, Evan Marquez continues to navigate his way through the political minefield known as the American high school. Back with Evan - though not always on his side - are his best friend Gwen, gym teacher Markie, wild card guidance counselor Rick and constantly terrified Principal Grant Moretti.
Not surprisingly, Evan still refuses to stay quiet when controversy arises at Morrison-Hensley High. This season, the gang finds themselves in the crosshairs of issues including climate change, Covid, military recruitment and student cellphone usage. Evan also struggles to keep his relationship with Malcolm separate from his work life. Even though Malcolm no longer works at Morrison-Hensley, Evan's excessive righteousness at school takes an increasing toll on his romantic life.
The comedy stars Brian Jordan Alvarez, Stephanie Koenig, Sean Patton, Carmen Christopher and Enrico Collantoni.
Alvarez created the comedy. He executive produces with Paul Simms, Jonathan Krisel, Dave King, Kathryn Dean, Jake Bender and Zach Dunn. FX Productions produces.
