Hulu has today given a series order to a reboot of the original drama series Prison Break. The project produced a pilot earlier this year.
The original series debuted on FOX in August 2005. It aired for four seasons before later being revived with the original cast for a fifth season in 2017. It produced 90 episodes overall, which are available to stream on Hulu. The new reboot will be set within the same universe as the original but will follow a new set of characters.
In the new series, a soldier-turned-corrections officer takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America to prove just how far she'll go for someone she loves.
The drama stars Emily Browning, Drake Rodger, Lukas Gage, Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Georgie Flores and Myles Bullock.
The pilot also features guest stars Priscilla Delgado, Ray McKinnon, Margo Martindale, Donal Logue, Lili Taylor and Sylvester Powell.
Elgin James wrote and directed the pilot. He will executive produce with original series creator Paul Scheuring, Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz. 20th Television produces.
