Paramount+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy starring Holly Hunter.
The 10-episode first season will debut on Thursday, January 15 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Thursday until the season finale on March 12.
The drama introduces viewers to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.
In addition to Hunter, the drama stars Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard, Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro and Robert Picardo.
Guest stars include Paul Giamatti, Gina Yashere, Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman and Stephen Colbert.
Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau created the drama. They executive produce with Gaia Violo, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Jenny Lumet, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa and John Weber. CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment produce.
