Prime Video Reveals Premiere Date for New Drama 'Scarpetta' Starring Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis

Prime Video has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Scarpetta starring Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The eight-episode first season will be available on Wednesday, March 11. The drama has already been renewed for a second season.

With skilled hands and an unnerving eye, unrelenting medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta (Kidman) is determined to serve as the voice of the victims, unmask a serial killer, and prove that her career-making case from 28 years prior isn't also her undoing. Set against the backdrop of modern forensic investigation, the series delves beyond the crime scene to explore the psychological complexities of both perpetrators and investigators, creating a multi-layered thriller that examines the toll of pursuing justice at all costs.

The chilling crime thriller will unfold across two timelines. This dual narrative explores Scarpetta's journey from her beginnings as a Chief Medical Examiner in the late '90s to her present-day return to her hometown, where she resumes her former position while investigating a grisly murder. As Scarpetta pursues justice, she must navigate complicated relationships, including the fraught dynamic with her sister Dorothy Farinelli (Curtis), confront long-held professional and personal grudges, and face secrets that threaten to unravel everything she's built.

In addition to Kidman and Curtis, the drama will star Bobby Cannavale as Detective Pete Marino, Simon Baker as FBI profiler Benton Wesley, and Ariana DeBose as Kay's tech-savvy niece Lucy Watson. The dual timeline is completed by Rosy McEwen, Amanda Righetti, Jake Cannavale, and Hunter Parrish as the younger versions of Kidman, Curtis, Cannavale, and Baker's characters, respectively.

Liz Sarnoff developed the drama based on the series of novels by Patricia Cornwell. The showrunner and author executive produce with Kidman, Curtis, Per Saari, Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie, Chris McCumber, Amy Sayres and director David Gordon Green. Amazon MGM Studios, Blumhouse Television, Blossom Films, Comet Pictures, Sarnoff Television and P&S Projects produce.
