ABC has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series RJ Decker starring Scott Speedman.
The new drama will launch on Tuesday, March 3 at 10/9c. As a result, the eighth season of The Rookie will move to Mondays at 10/9c. starting January 26 following the season premiere of American Idol.
Speedman stars as RJ Decker, a disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con who starts over as a private investigator in the colorful-if-crime-filled world of South Florida. The series follows him tackling cases that range from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a shadowy new benefactor - a woman from his past who could be his greatest ally... or his one-way ticket back to prison.
In addition to Speedman, the drama stars Jaina Lee Ortiz, Bevin Bru, Kevin Rankin and Adelaide Clemens.
Rob Doherty developed the drama inspired by the novel "Double Whammy" by Carl Hiaasen. The showrunner and author executive produce with Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman and director Paul McGuigan. Speedman serves as a producer. 20th Television and Timberman-Beverly Productions produce.
