Hulu has today given a series order to the original drama series Conviction starring Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale, Mad Men). Production is slated to begin in June in New York.
The drama will center on criminal defense attorney Neve Harper (Moss), a confident lawyer who finally has her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder where the husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal - or else risk her dark secrets being exposed.
David Shore (House, The Good Doctor) developed the drama based on the novel by Jack Jordan. The showrunner and author will executive produce with Moss, Warren Littlefield, Bert Salke, Erin Gunn, Ann Johnson, Lisa Harrison and Lindsey McManus. 20th Television, Shore Z Productions, The Littlefield Company, Love & Squalor Pictures and Co-Lab21 will produce.
