President Hagan fast-tracked Adam for Night Action. He needed an agent he could trust. They started in basic training together. The President didn't know all his fellow soldier did during his twenty years of service. He left a mark nevertheless. He wants him to make an assessment of Peter. He needs to know if the man leading the nation's most-sensitive mission can be trusted. Peter resembles so many soldiers Adam once knew. He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He's responsible for this mess. It's on him to clean it up. He's to blame for whatever happens. Adam stresses the importance of being on a team. Carrying the burden together is the only way to survive in this line of work. Peter is completely isolated in his personal life. However, he has several allies willing to help him expose the broker. They extend aide when he's not even aware of what's going on. Isabel believes publishing this story is the only way to regain power. It exposes all the corruption within Washington, D.C. Adam helps him execute the mission. They break into Hutson's casino in the hopes of gathering evidence of his financial crimes. They succeed. It's tense for a bit. Peter has the easier job of cloning the target's phone. He just needs to be near him and stall the conversation long enough to succeed. Adam has to break into the office and avoid detection. That's amusing. It allows for some levity. They prevail. The White House is quick to release the news of capturing this financier of terrorists.

That isn't the end of the story. Nothing on Hutson's phone or computer links him to Jacob. Peter's frustrated. The target of his investigation is the only thing that matters. He can't celebrate this victory. It's impossible for him to stay still. Everyone comments on that. He needs to be focused. He can't allow himself to relax until Jacob has been brought to justice. Chelsea provides him with a lead. Jenny's attacker received several sketchy payments. Her name was released to the press so she would have to deal with the brunt of the publicity. She manages that while the First Couple enjoys the protection of the White House. They are removed from the people who matter. Chelsea believes Peter is the only person she can trust. He first suggested that something might be off. She comes to the same realization. Moreover, the company that paid the attacker was also featured in Jay's SARs reports. It didn't align with the rest of them. That's why Isabel singled it out. Something more nefarious may be going on because her trusted source is Jacob. She reaches out to him. She's nervous about Peter following her. She's more entangled in this mess than initially seemed. Plus, Jay has uncovered more activity in the crypto wallet. Another attack is coming. Jacob is trying to figure it out too. He pursues a way to exploit the situation for his advantage. That's how he operates. Peter can't abide that. He can't disregard those who wish to help him either.

She had her own suspicions because one of his companies was featured in the SARs. She knew where he banked. He has withheld many details of his job. She has used him as a source before. That has been enough to earn some respect as her father. Peter and Adam don't know if they can trust Isabel after this news. She calls Peter for backup. She found Jay. She wants to publish this story. She aims to keep everyone safe in the process. Jacob wants to strike that deal for his daughter. He's willing to return to Freya if she calls off the hit. She no longer sees any importance in maintaining ties with Jacob. His business was once valued. He walked away. He could no longer trust them. And so, he's added to the hit list. Freya will meet the Father's price no matter what additional complications occur. He even believes he's successful in trapping Peter and Isabel within a burning building. They escape. Jay has been shot. The trio still manage to regroup.

Jacob projects more vulnerability. He's honest about fighting cancer. He shares his true appearance. He wants to share the truth with Isabel. She's already in danger because of what she's uncovered. Her involvement with Jacob may only further threaten her life. Peter has earned more of her trust. The Father doesn't want any collateral damage. He saves the chef. That's it. It's presented as him caring about her being a mother. He relates. Of course, he abducted his child. He killed the parents without knowing their son was present. He acted quickly to ensure no damage was done. He's still trying to protect him. The Son is smart though. He stumbles upon his father's real job. He believes he's a spy killing bad guys. He wants a secret identity too. He already has one. He doesn't know his life up until this point has been a lie. He relies on his father. He's the only parent he has ever known. He's been treated well under his care. The violence cannot be ignored. The kid was in the potential crossfire before. The stakes are obviously going to escalate. Freya's clients will get even more desperate because the threat of exposure still exists. This trained killer really isn't an improvement on the local hires in Istanbul. That allows enough time for the protagonists to stumble upon the truth. Another attack is coming. Plus, Peter reassures Chelsea that her instincts are correct. She trusts him more than Theo. Her fiancé has really proven to have no skills at reading people or investigative procedure.
