AMC has today decided to cancel its original drama series Talamasca: The Secret Order after one season. The drama becomes the first in the cable network's extended Anne Rice universe to not move forward with a second season.
In a statement, AMC said: "While we are not proceeding with another season of Talamasca: The Secret Order, we are proud of the series and grateful for the efforts of everyone involved. The Talamasca has a storied place within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we expect to see at least some of these characters, and the organization itself, in future expressions of the franchise."
The drama starred Nicholas Denton, Celine Buckens, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, William Fichtner and Elizabeth McGovern.
John Lee Hancock created the drama. He executive produced with the late Anne Rice, Christopher Rice, Tom Williams, Mark Johnson and Mark Lafferty. AMC Studios, Gran Via Productions, Steady State Productions and Takes All Kinds Films produced.
The Anne Rice Immortal Universe on AMC also includes Interview With a Vampire and Mayfair Witches. Both dramas have been renewed for their third seasons. Interview With a Vampire returns - under the new title The Vampire Lestat - on June 7. Mayfair Witches is expected to return later this year.
The six-episode first and now only season of Talamasca: The Secret Order premiered on October 19, 2025 with its finale on November 23, 2025.
