Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of its original drama series Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Every episode of the second season will be available on Thursday, June 25.
The drama follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation.
In the second season, after a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Avatar Aang, Katara and Sokka regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against fearsome Fire Lord Ozai.
The drama stars Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Miyako, Elizabeth Yu, Momona Tamada, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Maria Zhang and Daniel Dae Kim.
Christine Boylan serves as showrunner for the second season. She executive produces with Dan Lin, Ryan Halprin, Brendan Ferguson, Albert Kim and director Jabbar Raisani. The drama is a live-action reimagining of the Nickelodeon animated series. Nickelodeon Productions and Rideback produce in association with Netflix.
