Netflix has today given a series order to the original limited series The Corrections starring Academy and Emmy Award winner Meryl Streep (Sophie's Choice, Angels in America). The series will be based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen.
The series is a sharply comic portrait of a Midwestern family whose three unmoored adult siblings desperately resist their mother's (Streep) wish for one last Christmas together - each undone by the delusional ambitions that were supposed to save them from becoming their parents.
Franzen will adapt his novel with Cord Jefferson set to direct. They will also executive produce with Streep, Mark Roybal, Paul Lee and Nicole Clemens. Paramount Television Studios and wiip will produce.
