Casting News - Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin and David Costabile Join Netflix's "The Roman"; Plus 2 More Updates!

Casting News - May 12, 2026

FX's American Horror Story; MGM+'s The Magnificent Seven; and Netflix's The Roman.

NETFLIX's THE ROMAN
  • Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin, and David Costabile have joined the cast of the upcoming drama (previously untitled) starring Oscar Isaac. Gilpin recently starred in the limited series Starz's Gaslit and Three Women on Starz, Mrs. Davis on Peacock, and American Primeval and Death by Lightning on Netflix. Baldwin has received 20 Emmy Award nominations - winning twice for his lead role in NBC's 30 Rock and once for his guest role on NBC's Saturday Night Live. Costabile starred for seven seasons in Showtime's Billions and recurred on USA's Suits.
  • Gilpin will play Marla Blake, Bobby Red's (Isaac) formidable wife. A brilliant and highly connected lawyer, she knows how to navigate the town's darkest corners just as well as her husband.
  • Baldwin will play Paul "Primo" Clark, a legendary and flint-eyed business technician, who is the longtime chairman of the organization. He's a surrogate father figure to Bobby who isn't afraid to let his protégés fight for his favor.
  • Costabile will play Bill Saverick, the operator of a rival casino. He is a longtime associate of Bobby's who often finds himself caught between being a loyal friend and a target of the town's aggressive business maneuvers.
MGM+'s THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
  • Michael Ealy will co-star opposite Matt Dillon and Will Patton on the upcoming drama based on the classic Western film. He previously starred in the third season of FOX's The Following, the second season of ABC's Secrets and Lies, in the first season of Hulu's Reasonable Doubt, and in the fourth season of Starz's Power Book II: Ghost.
  • He will play Vin Tanner. Understated, sharp-eyed, and drier than a drought, Vin spent his early adulthood as a Pullman Porter - smiling on cue while passengers snapped their fingers for whiskey. When a gang held up his train, he talked his way into allowing him to join their gang. What followed was the freest stretch of his life, a found family, rough and loyal. It didn't last. Now he drifts - watching everything carefully, reading people and terrain with uncanny precision. Underneath the dry wit is a deep longing to believe in something principled. He just hasn't found it yet.
FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY
  • Paul Anthony Kelly has joined the cast of the upcoming 13th installment of the anthology drama. His casting extends his relationship with executive producer Ryan Murphy after starring in FX's Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette earlier this year.
  • No details were immediately announced about the character he will be playing.
