FOX's Baywatch; HBO's Task; Hulu's Only Murders in the Building; MGM+'s Legacy of Spies; Netflix's Scooby-Doo: Origins; and Prime Video's Overcompensating.




NETFLIX's SCOOBY-DOO: ORIGINS
  • The upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic animated series has added 15 actors to the cast of its first season: Rusty Schwimmer (The Pitt), Peter Macon (The Orville), Maxwell Simkins (Shifting Gears), Jona Xiao (The Pitt), Dani Deetté (The Runarounds), Elysée Sanvillé (72 Hours), Alex Isles (Normal with a Capitol N), Avery Kristen Pohl (General Hospital), Pamela Mitchell (1883), Ross Kimball (Jury Duty), Sara Gilbert (The Conners), Wynn Everett (Chad Powers), Sauriyan Sapkota (The Midnight Club), Bruce McGill (Rizzoli & Isles) and Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks).
  • No details were immediately announced about the characters those new additions will be playing. They will join a main cast that includes McKenna Grace as Daphne Black, Tanner Hagan as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Forston as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones.
HULU's ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING
  • Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard and Sharon Horgan have booked recurring roles on the comedy's upcoming sixth season. No details were immediately announced about their characters. The new season will see the story travel abroad to London.
  • Saunders created and starred in Absolutely Fabulous, which aired for five seasons and multiple specials. Teale previously starred for two seasons in FOX's The Gifted and in ABC's one-season drama Doctor Odyssey. Ashley recently starred in the film The Devil Wears Prada 2 and currently stars in Netflix's Bridgerton. Chadha-Patel starred in Disney+'s one-season drama Willow and in Netflix's one-season dramedy The Decameron. Norwood currently stars in Netflix's Heartstopper, which ends with a film next month. Beard starred for two seasons in Sky Max's Funny Woman and in the AMC limited series Monsieur Spade. Horgan created and starred in Prime Video's Catastrophe and Apple TV's Bad Sisters.
MGM+'s LEGACY OF SPIES
  • Joe Alwyn, Anjana Vasan, Charlotte Ritchie, Lee Ross, James McArdle, John Dagleish, Goran Bogdan and Adam Hugill have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Matthew Macfadyen, Charlie Hunnam and Hugh Laurie.
  • The series has also confirmed the role to be played by Laurie today. He will portray Control, the fiendish and commanding head of The Circus, George Smiley's (Macfadyen) morally fickle superior, known only by his code name.
  • Alwyn (The Brutalist) will play Jim Prideaux, a charismatic Circus veteran and roguish scalp hunter, whose off-book exploits in the field ruffle a few feathers back in London.
  • Vasan (We Are Lady Parts) will play Connie Sachs. Ritchie (You) will play Ann Smiley. Ross (Andor) will play Inspector Oliver Mendel. McArdle (Mare of Easttown) will play Percy Alleline. Dagleish (Sexy Beast) will play Roy Bland. Bogdan (The Last Panthers) will play Toby Esterhase. Hugill (Sherwood) will play Fawn.
PRIME VIDEO's OVERCOMPENSATING
  • Holmes has been promoted to series regular on the comedy's upcoming second season. Furthermore, Tom Francis, Aisha Dee and AnnaSophia Robb have been cast as recurring guest stars. Holmes recurred on the first season - appearing in six episodes overall. Francis previously recurred on Netflix's You and appears in Apple TV's upcoming limited series The Off Weeks. Dee starred for five seasons in Freeform's The Bold Type and in the Netflix limited series Apple Cider Vinegar. Robb starred in the Hulu limited series The Act and in the first season of Peacock's Dr. Death.
  • Holmes plays Hailee, Carmen's (Wally Baram) roommate.
  • Francis will play Declan Bishop. Dee will play Naomi. Robb will play Chels.
FOX's BAYWATCH
  • John Beckwith has landed a recurring role on the upcoming drama reboot starring Stephen Amell. He previously appeared in the film Song Sung Blue and recurred on Starz's Three Women.
  • He will play Julian, an extremely handsome, compassionate, and sophisticated Ph.D student who's part of an ocean research team brought in to help Baywatch. Sparks fly and white-hot chemistry grows when Charlie (Jessica Belkin) rescues him, only to find herself drowning in his bright blue eyes.
HBO's TASK
  • Edgar Ramírez is set as a new series regular on the drama's upcoming second season. He previously starred in the FX limited series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, in the HBO limited series The Undoing, in the Netflix limited series Florida Man, and in the second season of Peacock's Dr. Death. He received an Emmy Award nomination for his role in the FX series.
  • He will play Miguel Contreras, a devoted family man and loyal DEA second-in-command torn between duty and guilt.
