From June 11 to 22, 2026, voting is taking place for The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. As such, it's fun to look at which actors and shows have the best chances of actually being nominated this year. So, these are my predictions for which performers will be nominated for Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
Performers most likely to be nominated:
- Shailene Woodley for Hulu's Paradise
- Miriam Shor for Apple TV's Pluribus
- Elisabeth Moss for Hulu's The Testaments
- Brittany Allen for HBO Max's The Pitt
- Merritt Wever for HBO's The Gilded Age
- Tal Anderson for HBO Max's The Pitt
Serious threats that could break through:
- Ayesha Harris, Tina Ivlev, Irina Dubova, Ramona DuBarry and Cathryn Dylan Ortiz for HBO Max's The Pitt
- Danielle Deadwyler, Alanna Ubach and Priscilla Delgado for HBO's Euphoria
- Dale Dickey and Sarita Choudhury for Prime Video's Fallout
- Mary McDonnell for Netflix's The Boroughs
- Bel Powley for Apple TV's The Morning Show
- Elisabeth Shue for Prime Video's The Boys
Some considerable long-shots:
- Mare Winningham for Apple TV's Your Friends & Neighbors
- Krysten Ritter for Showtime's Dexter: Resurrection
- Simone Ashley for Netflix's Bridgerton
- Kirby Howell-Baptiste for Prime Video's The Night Manager
- Jenna Boyd for HBO's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
- Miriam Silverman for Paramount+'s Landman
Colorful oddities that still have an outside chance:
- Isabella Rossellini and Ari Graynor for FX's The Beauty
- Yvette Nicole Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Justina Machado and Yael Grobglas for CBS' Matlock
- Linda Hamilton for AMC's Dark Winds
- Loretta Devine for Peacock's M.I.A.
- Tatiana Maslany for Paramount+'s Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
The nominations for The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, July 8. The winners will be awarded in a ceremony broadcast on NBC on Monday, September 14.
