Apple TV has today given a series order to the original drama series Guilty Creatures starring Emmy Award winner Julia Garner (Ozark, Weapons). An episode count and premiere date window were not immediately announced.
Set against a backdrop of sex and murder in the Florida panhandle, the series will delve into the psyche of a torrid romance and subsequent act of murder between two young, adulterous but God-fearing lovers, unraveling their complex lives and the emotional toll of living as killers for 18 years.
Sarah DeLappe developed the drama based on the novel "Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida" by Mikita Brottman. Stuart Zicherman will serve as showrunner while Craig Gillespie will direct. DeLappe, Brottman, Zicherman, Gillespie and Garner will executive produce with Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Alissa Bachner and Annie Marter. Tomorrow Studios, Fortunate Jack Productions and Alma Margo Productions will produce.
