'Law & Order: SVU' Review - 13.20 Father Dearest

In the newest episode of NBC's Law & Order: SVU, Detectives Benson and Amaro investigate the disappearance of a teenaged girl after her young brother calls 911. While Fin and Rollins look into a possible abduction, they discover the girl had been searching for her biological father, an anonymous sperm donor. The investigation takes a startling turn when a suspect is found to be targeting several young, vulnerable women, all with the same personal connection. But the suspect isn't what he seems, and Dr. Huang returns to delve into the past to save the women.

My thoughts below in bulleted format - due to the lateness of the review.
  • Overall this was an average, dark episode of SVU from this exceptional season.
  • The story told during the hour is clearly a case that the SVU squad would investigate. However, I'm confused as to why the gang would have been called after that initial 911 call.
  • It was great to have BD Wong back on this show - even though just briefly. He's been great on Awake this season but it was good to see him back in this role.
  • I was a little confused as to why Dr. Colin Barnes actual daughter with Anne would run into the arms of Sean since she hadn't been deprived of a father figure like the other victims.
  • James van der Beek was plenty creepy in this tale - a drastic change from his current role on Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23. His scenes in the interrogation room were all great.
