Friday, February 15 - Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman has landed a leading role on the FOX drama pilot Boomerang from Davey Holmes and John Wells. She will play Margie, the matriarch of the Hamilton clan who is a briskly professional assassin who can kill and dispose of a suspected terrorist in the afternoon and then switch to wife and mother mode without a hitch.
iCarly alum Miranda Cosgrove has landed the co-leading role opposite Christina Ricci on NBC's comedy pilot Girlfriend in a Coma from Liz Brixius. She will play Evie, Karen's (Ricci) 17-year-old daughter she didn't know she had due to being in a coma. Evie is a small-town, overachieving loner whose world is turned upside down when her mom wakes up, and every hope she ever had of keeping her nose to the grindstone, saving money and getting grades for an out-of-state college is thrown out the winder.
British actor Humphrey Kerr is the first actor cast in a leading role on NBC's comedy pilot Holding Patterns from Justin Spitzer. He will play Griffin, a cautious, often-uptight, over-analytical workaholic who survives a plane crash with his group of friends.
Sandrine Holt (House of Cards), Quinn Shephard and Mateus Ward have joined the cast of the CBS drama pilot Hostages opposite Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott. Holt will play Maria, the mysterious and tough last-minute replacement brought in to round out the hostage team. Shephard will play Ellen's (Collette) teenage daughter who has a very dramatic secret of her own. Ward will play Ellen's teenage son who is a good kid but is lacking direction.
Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler is plotting his return to television - after starring in big screen hits Argo, Zero Dark Thirty and Super 8 - with a starring role in the Showtime drama pilot The Vatican. He will play Cardinal Thomas Duffy, the charismatic yet enigmatic Archbishop of New York whose progressive leanings excite some and alarm others within the hierarchy of the Church. Additionally, Matthew Goode (A Single Man) and Sebastian Koch (A Good Day to Die Hard) have joined the cast as Papal Secretary Bernd Koch and Cardinal Marco Malerba respectively.
