TV News - 'The Strain,' 'Crossing Lines,' 'Suits,' 'Low Winter Sun' & 'Necessary Roughness'

        Thursday, April 25 - House of Cards vet Corey Stoll has been tapped for the leading role on the FX drama pilot The Strain from Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse. He will play Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City, called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism.

NBC has announced more premiere dates for its upcoming summer schedule. Acquired drama series Crossing Lines will debut on Sunday, June 23 with a two-hour premiere at 9 and will move to the 10 PM time slot starting June 30. Game shows The Winner Is... and Hollywood Game Night will both premiere on Thursday, July 11 at 9 and 10 respectively.

Max Beesley (Hotel Babylon) has booked a major recurring role on the upcoming third season of USA's Suits. He will play Stephen Huntley, Edward Darby's (Conleth Hill) charismatic right-hand man and Harvery's (Gabriel Macht) British counterpart, who arrives in the New York office following the merger.

Erika Alexander will recur on the first season of AMC's new drama, Low Winter Sun. She will play Louise "LC" Cullen, a strong and intimidating cop who is matter-of-fact and straightforward in everything she does. When Internal Affairs conducts a corrupt investigation in her department, she takes it in stride.

Sam Page (Mad Men), Sinqua Walls (Teen Wolf) and Kate Miner (Persons Unknown) have joined the cast of the upcoming third season of USA's Necessary Roughness. Page will play Sam Conte, a V3 agent who represents one of Dani's (Callie Thorne) clients and who would like to mix business and pleasure with her. He will appear in two episodes - the first being episode four. Walls will appear in the third episodes as Devon Langer, a basketball star and the son of Lana (Garcelle Beauvais). Miner will recur in at least four episodes as Sheera Kane, an up-and-coming model with a wild streak who catches the eye of TK (Mehcad Brooks).
