Wednesday, April 24 - After previously ordering new drama series The Fosters and Twisted, ABC Family today has announced that they will be going 3-for-3 on their drama pilots - giving a series order to drama pilot Terminales which will now be called Chasing Life and stars Italia Ricci.
Chasing Life is an adaptation of the successful Televisa Spanish-language Mexican television series from Miguel Angel Fox. It centers on April (Ricci), an ambitious young newspaper reporter who tries to balance her career aspirations with her family - her widowed mom Sara (Mary Page Keller), rebellious little sister Brenna (Haley Ramm), and her grandmother. Just as things start to look up at work, home and on the romance front with co-worker Dominic (Richard Brancatisano), April gets the devastating news from an estranged uncle that she has terminal cancer. Aisha Dee and Abhi Sinha also star on the series.
Aaron Kaplan will executive producer the Lionsgate/Televisa project alongside pilot writers Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz.
