TV News - 'The Michael J. Fox Show,' 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'Psych' & 'Scandal'

Monday, July 15 - New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will appear as himself on an upcoming fall episode of NBC's new comedy series The Michael J. Fox Show. The comedy will be the politician's first foray into scripted comedy - after making a memorable appearance on Saturday Night Live last season.

The View co-host Sherri Shepherd will guest on the one-hour final season premiere of CBS' How I Met Your Mother. She will play Camille, who sits next to Marshall (Jason Segal) on a flight from Minnesota to New York City. His erratic behavior causes a confrontation between the two and they are both escorted off the plane prior to take-off.

Oscar winner Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite) has joined the cast of USA's Psych for a multi-episode arc. She will play the Santa Barbara Police Department's newest head detective Betsy Brannigan, an incredibly sweet, adorably reserved and yet certified badass. Brannigan's record for taking down ruthless criminals is rivaled only by her skills in sparkly craft making, and her seemingly bubbly demeanor can turn on a dime once she straps in the dual-wielded Colt .45s. She's a scrapbooking, cat loving, crime-fighting machine. She will first appear in the eighth season premiere.

BET has acquired the off-network rights to ABC's breakout hit drama series Scandal. Under the deal, the network will begin airing seasons one and two of the series this August. Additionally, original episodes from the upcoming third season will air no sooner than eight days after original first-run episodes are broadcast on ABC. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately available.
