MTV Orders Comedy Pilots 'Happyland' & 'Faking It' to Series

The first MTV scripted pilots greenlit by the network's new regime of president Susanne Daniels and head of scripted Mina Lefevre have been ordered to series. Comedies Happyland and Faking It have both been given eight-episode orders and will debut in 2014.

Happyland is written by Ben Epstein and executive produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan. It revolves around Lucy (Bianca Santos), a cynical teen, whose mother (Zulay Henao) makes a living as a fairy tale princess at one of the country's most popular theme parks. The comedy explores the realities of growing up and falling in love while living in a make believe world. Shane Harper, Katherine McNamara, Cameron Moulene, Brady Smith and Ryan Rottman also star.

Faking It comes from writer Carter Covington and revolves around two best friends (Rita Volk, Katie Stevens) who will do almost anything to fit in and be popular in high school, including pretending to be something they're not. Bailey Buntain, Gregg Sulkin and Michael Willett also star.
