TV News - History Sets 'Vikings' Return Date; '24: Live Another Day' Adds 2 Regulars; Rhea Perlman Joins 'The Neighbors'; Plus 13 More Updates!

History will debut the 10-episode second season of Vikings on Thursday, February 27 at 10/9c. Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, George Blagden, Jessalyn Gilsig, Donal Logue, Gustaf Skarsgard and Alyssa Sutherland return as series regulars on the new season. They will be joined by new additions Alexander Ludwig and Linus Roache.

Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) and Mo Gaffney (Absolutely Fabulous) will guest on an upcoming episode of ABC Family's Melissa & Joey. Brown will play Calista, Mel's (Melissa Joan Hart) stubborn, feisty and super-cool hairdresser. Calista hits Joe's (Joey Lawrence) car bumper in a hit-and-run and her actions cause a rift between Mel and Joe because Mel doesn't want to lose Calista's services. Gaffney will play Lucinda Dowell, the Vice Principal of the high school where Mel and Joe are chaperoning a dance.

Rhea Perlman (Cheers, Kirstie) will appear on an upcoming episode of ABC's The Neighbors. She will play Janet, Debbie's (Jamie Gertz) mother, a former wild child and partier who was lousy mother. When Debbie brings the family for a visit, she is shocked to learn that Janet is sober and trying to turn her life around.

Reece Ritchie (Hercules, Prince of Persia) is the first actor cast on FOX's upcoming drama series Hieroglyph - which was ordered straight-to-series. He will play Shai, the young, handsome Pharaoh who rules with an iron fist and fully trusts no one. He is obsessed with maintaining power over his kingdom, which he'll do by any means necessary.

Jack Coleman (Heroes, Scandal) has booked a guest spot on CBS' CSI. He will play Jim, a king, empathetic pastor who is devastated by the death of his 16-year-old daughter whose body was found in the desert.

Josh Hamilton (American Horror Story: Coven) has been cast on FOX's limited series Gracepoint as a series regular. He will play Joe Miller, Detective Ellie Miller's (Anna Gunn) husband.

Joanna Adler (Orange Is the New Black) has joined the second season of Lifetime's Devious Maids as a new series regular. She will play Opal, a new maid who is very secretive and conniving.

Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live) and Balthazar Getty (Brothers & Sisters) will guest star on the upcoming third season of Showtime's House of Lies. Armisen will play Vincent, a neurotic owner of a company that makes a meal-replacement product. Getty will play a wealthy hedge fund owner who has a history with Marissa (Eliza Coupe).

Gbenga Akinnagbe (Graceland) and Giles Matthey (Jobs) have been cast on FOX's event series 24: Live Another Day as new series regulars. Akinnagbe will play Erik Ritter, a strong, sharp, arrogant and ambitious CIA field operative. Matthey will play Jordan Reed, a smart and sophisticated CIA computer tech.

Adam Goldberg (NYC 22, The Unusuals) will co-star on the untitled CBS comedy pilot inspired by and starring comedian Jim Gaffigan. He will play Dave Reedy, Jim's (Gaffigan) best friend, a die-hard New Yorker and stand-up comic who lives next door and is always at hand to give Jim the benefit of his neurotic counsel.

  • TNT (1) -- Six (Script), a drama that chronicles the aftermath of a small town hit by a tornado.
  • The CW (1) -- The Messengers (Script) a sci-fi drama about angels and the coming Apocalypse.
  • HBO (1) -- Claws (Script), a dramedy set at a Florida nail salon.
