Casting News - February 4, 2014

ABC's Secrets & Lies; CBS's Under the Dome; FOX's The Mindy Project; FX's Archer; MTV's Teen Wolf; Netflix's Untitled Kessler-Zelman-Kessler; and WGN America's Manhattan.

  • Ashley Zukerman (Terra Nova, The Pacific) has been cast as one of the leads in the network's upcoming 13-episode drama series. He will play Charlie Abrams, a super-bright, self-described "numbers guy" with an IQ of 180 and a good sense of humor.
  • Dylan Sprayberry (Man of Stell, Glee) is joining the hit MTV drama series in a recurring role during its fourth season. He will play Liam, an arrogant but big-hearted high-school freshman. With an enviable athletic prowess, he's got perfect grades, perfect charm and is utterly unprepared to face the supernatural adversity of Beacon Hills.
  • New Girl star Max Greenfield is heading to the fellow FOX comedy - which returns with new episodes on April 1. He will play Lee, a hot player at a bar who is up to no good. And no, he is not playing Schmidt - or so the show says. His guest appearance is tentatively slated to air on April 22.
  • Two years after recurring on the final season of FX/DirecTV's Damages, Ryan Phillippe is heading to series regular TV full-time. He is in final negotiations to play the leading role on the 10-episode drama, which was ordered straight-to-series. He will play Ben Garner, a decent family man who works as a house painter, who is the father of 16-year-old Natalie and 12-year-old Abby and is experiencing marital problems with his wife, Christy. Ben is shocked and upset when he stumbles across the dead body of his 4-year-old neighbor Tom while on his morning run, and now must juggle the media and police attention in addition to his personal worries.
  • Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY) and Karla Crome (Misfits) have landed new series regular roles on the upcoming second season of the hit summer drama. Cahill will play Sam, Big Jim's (Dean Norris) brother-in-law, a handsome recluse and a former EMT who can hold his own against Big Jim and forms a deep connection with Julia (Rachelle Lefevre). Crome will play Rebecca, a beautiful teacher who is athletic, smart, tough and sexy. She grew up as an Army brat and lived with her family in many locations around the world.
  • Linda Cardellini - recently Emmy nominated for Mad Men and who will appear in multiple episodes of New Girl starting later this month - will co-star opposite Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn on the upcoming drama series from the creators of Damages. She will play Meg, the youngest sibling who is a skilled attorney but also warm, caring and fun, but beneath her buoyant exterior, she is a complex woman with secrets.
  • Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) will be lending her voice to the hit FX animated series for a multiple episode appearance later this season. She will voice Juliana Calderon, a European socialite who is married to a brutal Central American dictator (voiced by Fred Armisen). Her first episode will air March 31.
