Development News - 'NCIS: New Orleans' Casts CCH Pounder & Zoe McLellan; Cinemax's 'Blanco' Adds 7; Plus 7 More Updates!

ABC's Sea of Fire; CBS's NCIS: New Orleans; Cinemax's Blanco; Comedy Central's Crazy House; The CW's The Flash; FOX's Queen of Everything; and NBC's Bad JudgeMarry Me & Odyssey.




COMEDY CENTRAL's CRAZY HOUSE
  • Stand-up comedian Whitmer Thomas has landed the co-leading role opposite Nick Turner on the single camera comedy pilot. The project revolves around two friends (Turner, Thomas) who, after accidentally sending their boss into a coma via an office prank, successfully plead insanity and are sentenced to an asylum.
CBS's NCIS: NEW ORLEANS
  • Zoe McLellan (Dirty Sexy Money, JAG) will co-star opposite Scott Bakula in CBS's planted spinoff of NCIS set in New Orleans. She will play Special Agent Brody, a fish-out-of-water Midwestern transplant who comes to New Orleans looking for a fresh start and a safe haven to heal old wounds.
  • The Shield alum CCH Pounder has also joined the prospective spinoff series. She will play Dr. Wade, the Jefferson Parish Medical Examiner who is as eccentric as she is smart and also is intuitive and incredibly connected to Louisiana.
NBC's BAD JUDGE
  • John Ducey (Jonas) has been cast on the NBC single camera comedy pilot starring Kate Walsh. He will play Tom, a dapper DA and a shameless brown-noser who wants to be a judge and would climb over Rebecca's (Walsh) dead body to advance his own career.
  • Mather Zickel (House of Lies, Masters of Sex) has also been cast on the comedy pilot. He will play Gary, a psychiatrist who has an on-again, off-again relationship with Rebecca, often is called into her courtroom as an expert witness - and he often winds up necking furiously with her in chambers.
NBC's MARRY ME
  • The single camera comedy pilot starring Casey Wilson has found its male lead in Party Down alum Ken Marino. He will play Jake, a patient, funny, kind and a bit of mama's boy kind of guy. He hates being the center of attention and has grown a bit too comfortable at his boring cubicle job. The product of a broken home in which his parents always fought, he's uncomfortable expressing emotion and waits too long to propose to his six-year girlfriend, Annie (Wilson). Still, he's head over heels in love with her, who brings meaning and excitement to his life.
ABC's SEA OF FIRE
  • Lilli Birdsell (The Walking Dead) has signed on to star on the ABC drama pilot opposite Jennifer Carpenter and Jack Davenport. She will play Laura, Sheriff Marty's (Davenport) suicidal and befuddled wife.
FOX's QUEEN OF EVERYTHING
  • Script Commitment - Comedy (Animated)
  • FOX has put in development Queen of Everything written by Ali Waller (American Dad) and executive produced by Zooey Deschanel and Sophia Rossi via their Miss Hawkins production banner. The project is a workplace comedy set in a modern fairytale world. It centers on an evil queen who comes into power and realizes that running a Queendom isn't easy when you have no people skills and everyone hates you. With the help of her staff, she'll try to change her ways. 20th Century Fox Television will produce.
THE CW's THE FLASH
  • Candice Patton (The Game) has landed the female lead role on the The CW drama pilot based on the DC comic as well as a spinoff of Arrow. She will play Iris West, Barry's (Grant Gustin) fast-talking quick-witted best friend who is also the daughter of Detective West (Jesse L. Martin).
  • Carlos Valdes - currently starring in Broadway's Once - has also joined the drama pilot. He will play Cisco Ramon, a mechanical engineering genius and the youngest member of the team of scientists at STAR Labs.
NBC's ODYSSEY
  • Elena Kampouris has been cast on the drama pilot about a global conspiracy to be directed by Peter Horton. She will play the smart and confident teenage daughter of a disillusioned corporate attorney. Her father is one of the three who shockingly get pulled into the same international military conspiracy.
CINEMAX's BLANCO
  • Franka Potente (The Bourne Identity), Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange Is the New Black), Sebastian Arcelus (House of Cards), Audrey Esparza (The Following), Erik LaRay Harvey (Boardwalk Empire) and Alex Hernandez (Law & Order: SVU) have joined the cast of the drama pilot starring Shiloh Fernandez. Potente will play Leslee, Blanco's (Fernandez) girlfriend. Nolasco will play Jesus, Blanco's brother. Rodriguez will play Stephanie Gomez, an NYPD detective. Arcelus will play Andy Silver, Blanco's lawyer. Esparza will play Veronica, Jesus' girlfriend. Harvey will play Mike LeBeau, an NYPD detective. Hernandez will play Nando, an associate of Blanco's.
