El Rey's Matador; Lifetime's The Red Tent & Witches of East End; and Starz's Outlander.





LIFETIME's WITCHES OF EAST END
  • The supernatural drama will return for its second season on Sunday, July 6 at 9/8c. In the new season, with the portal to Asgard open, what comes through will forever change the lives of the Beauchamps. Darkness surrounds East End as a new stranger (new series regular Christian Cooke) arrives. Joanna is still weak with poison in her blood as the Beauchamps search desperately for a cure. With the death of Penelope, Killian and Dash's warlock powers return.
STARZ's OUTLANDER
  • The premium cable network will launch its latest drama series, Outlander developed by Ron Moore, on Saturday, August 9 at 9/8c. The first season will run for 16 episodes. The drama centers on Claire (Caitriona Balfe), a married British combat nurse from 1945 who mysteriously falls back in time to 1743 Scotland, where she is town between her husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a Scottish warrior who comes to her rescue.
LIFETIME's THE RED TENT
  • Lifetime has announced production on The Red Tent, a two-night miniseries adaptation of the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant. The cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Minnie Driver, Morena Baccarin, Iain Glen, Will Tudor and Debra Winger. Roger Young will direct from a script by Elizabeth Chandler and Anne Meredith. The Red Tent tells the story of Dinah (Ferguson), the daughter of Leah and Jacob, who is only briefly referenced in the Old Testament. The miniseries begins with Dinah's happy childhood spent inside the red tent where only the women of her tribe are allowed to gather and share the traditions and turmoil of ancient womanhood. Told through Dinah's eyes, the miniseries recounts the story of her mothers Leah (Driver), Rachel (Baccarin), Zilpah and Bilhah, the four wives of Jacob (Glen), and his courtship of them.
EL REY's MATADOR
  • The cable network will premiere its second original scripted drama Matador on Tuesday, July 15 at 9/8c. The drama tells the story of Tony "Matador" Bravo (Gabriel Luna), a popular soccer star who is secretly a skilled covert operative executing missions for the CIA.
