Casting News - Patti LaBelle Joins 'American Horror Story: Freak Show'; 'Homeland' to Return with 2 Episodes; Plus 4 More Updates!

ABC's How to Get Away With Murder & Nashville; The CW's Jane the Virgin; FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show; NBC's State of Affairs; and Showtime's Homeland & The Affair.




THE CW's JANE THE VIRGIN
  • Michael Rady (Emily Owens M.D., Intelligence) has booked a recurring role on the upcoming dramedy. He will play Lachlan, Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) rival who was hand-picked to run the company, and who has a surprising history with Petra (Yael Grobglas).
NBC's STATE OF AFFAIRS
  • David Harbour (Rake, The Newsroom) has joined the cast of the upcoming drama as series regular. He will play David Patrick, a member of the president's (Alfre Woodard) team who is primarily concerned with the political ramifications of the president's actions. He's loyal and is committed to doing all of the dirty work and back-room bargaining necessary to facilitate the president's agenda.
ABC's NASHVILLE
  • Alexa Vega (Spy Kids) and Brette Taylor (Rescue Me) have landed multi-episode arcs on the drama's upcoming third season. Vega will play Kiley, Gunnar's (Sam Palladio) high school sweetheart who is now a struggling single mother to a 10-year-old son. Taylor will play Pam, Luke's (Will Chase) sultry, extroverted new backup singer who quickly becomes Deacon's (Charles Esten) muse.
ABC's HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER
  • Orange Is the New Black alum Alysia Reiner has been cast in a recurring role on the new drama series. She will play a prosecutor who goes head to head with Annalise (Viola Davis).
SHOWTIME's HOMELAND and THE AFFAIR
  • Showtime is making changes to its premiere plans for its two dramas this fall. Homeland will return for its fourth season on Sunday, October 5 - but will now air two back-to-back episodes for a 2-hour debut. The move has also made the network move up the debut of new drama The Affair to Sunday, October 12 at 10/9c. - instead of October 19 as was originally planned.
FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW
  • Grammy winner Patti Labelle will appear in at least four episodes of the upcoming installment of the American Horror Story franchise. She will play the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's character, a local townsperson who begins to unravel the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer.
