MTV continues to be happy with Faking It's performance. Today, the cable network ordered an additional 10 episodes - to effectively form Season 2B - of the high school-set comedy. The new episodes will debut in Spring 2015.
Developed by Carter Covington, Faking It stars Rita Volk and Katie Stevens as two best friends who faked a lesbian relationship in order to move up the social ladder at Hester High in Austin, Texas. The comedy also stars Gregg Sulkin, Michael Willett and Bailey De Young.
The second season has aired four episodes so far - with the fifth set to air tonight at 10:30/9:30c. The comedy is currently averaging about 800,000 total viewers, down slightly from Season 1 but still enough to make the MTV executives happy.
The additional episode order comes on the heels of MTV announcing that the fifth season of companion comedy Awkward would be its last. No decision has been made yet on Happyland, the third comedy in the cable network's current Tuesday night lineup.
