Comedy Central Renews 'Broad City' for Season 3

Ahead of tonight's Season 2 premiere, Comedy Central has ordered a 10-episode third season of comedy Broad City created by and starring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer.

"It has just been brought to my attention that Broad City is a female-centric show, but we're going to do more anyway," joked Kent Alterman, President of Content Development and Original Programming, Comedy Central.

The renewal comes as Broad City, an odd couple comedy about two broke, flawed best friends navigating their twenties in New York City, landed on multiple year-end best lists - including my own.

Regular recurring characters Hannibal Buress, Arturo Castro, Paul Downs, John Gemberling, Chris Gethard and Stephen Schneider will be back throughout the second season. They will be joined by guest stars including Bob Balaban, Aidy Bryant, Patricia Clarkson, Susie Essman, Janeane Garofalo, Kumail Nanjiani, Kelly Ripa, Seth Rogen, Amy Ryan, Alia Shawkat and David Wain.

Broad City is executive produced by Jacobson, Glazer, Amy Poehler, 3 Arts' Dave Beck, Avalon's Sam Saifer and Jax Media's Tony Hernandez. Eric Slovin is a co-executive producer, with Sarah Babineau as the executive in charge of production for Comedy Central.
