Following a bidding war with several networks, HBO has landed the limited series Big Little Lies starring Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Nicole Kidman (The Hours) and written by Emmy winner David E. Kelley.
Based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same name, Big Little Lies is a subversive comedy which tells the tale of three mothers of kindergartners whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.
Kelley, Witherspoon and Kidman all serve as executive producers as well, alongside Bruna Papandrea and Per Saari. Moriarty will serve as a producer. David E. Kelley Productions, Blossom Films Productions and Pacific Standard Productions will produce.
It's currently unclear how many episodes will be produced for the straight-to-series order of the limited series.
