Casting News - Laurence Fishburne to Star in 'Roots' Remake; 'Once Upon a Time' Finds Its King Arthur; Plus 4 More Updates!

A&E, History & Lifetime's Roots; ABC's Agent Carter & Once Upon a Time; FOX's Lucifer; Netflix's House of Cards; and Showtime's The Affair.





NETFLIX's HOUSE OF CARDS
  • Scream star Neve Campbell has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming fourth season as a new series regular. No details were immediately made available about the character she will be playing.
ABC's AGENT CARTER
  • James D'Arcy and Enver Gjokaj have signed on to return to the drama's upcoming second season as series regulars. They play Edwin Jarvis and Daniel Sousa, respectively. Additionally, negotiations are ongoing for Lyndsy Fonseca (Angie), Bridget Regan (Dottie) and Chad Michael Murray (Jack Thompson) to return for the new season as well.
SHOWTIME's THE AFFAIR
  • Mistresses co-star Jennifer Esposito will appear in an upcoming episode of the drama's second season. She will play Nina Parla, Noah's (Dominic West) sister, the mother of twins who knows all about Noah's troubled past and is particularly frank about everything.
A&E, HISTORY and LIFETIME's ROOTS
  • Emmy winner Laurence Fishburne (black-ish, Hannibal) has been cast on the upcoming remake of the famous miniseries. He will play Alex Haley, the author of the novel Roots: The Saga of an American Family, an American family origin story based around the life of Kunta Kinte. The role was played by James Earl Jones in the 1977 original series.
ABC's ONCE UPON A TIME
  • Liam Garrigan (Strike Back, The Pillars of the Earth) has landed a major recurring role on the drama's upcoming fifth season. He will play King Arthur, a good and just ruler who, beneath the surface, is a master manipulator who can carry a grudge to the grave. He has an eternal burning love for Guinevere that can lean toward being a bit controlling.
FOX's LUCIFER
  • Kevin Alejandro (The Returned, Arrow) has been tapped to replace Nicholas Gonzalez as a series regular on the upcoming midseason drama. He will play Dan, a gruff LAPD homicide detective who is wary of Lucifer's (Tom Ellis) involvement with his wife and daughter.
