Casting News - Parker Young & Rutina Wesley to Recur on 'Arrow'; Sam Elliott to Co-Star on 'The Ranch'; Plus 10 More Updates!

Amazon's Bosch & Mozart in the Jungle; CBS' Code Black, Mom & Person of Interest; Cinemax's Outcast; The CW's Arrow; FOX's Bones & The Simpsons; NBC's Coach; Netflix's The Ranch; and Syfy's 12 Monkeys.




THE CW's ARROW
  • Parker Young (Enlisted), Elysia Rotaru (Choose Your Victim) and Rutina Wesley (True Blood) have been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming fourth season. Young will play Alex Davis, a smart and driven young man who will work for Oliver (Stephen Amell) and become a potential love interest for Thea (Willa Holland). Rotaru will play a love interest for Oliver who appears in the season's flashbacks. No details were immediately made available about the character Wesley will be playing.
CINEMAX's OUTCAST
  • David Denman (The Office), Brent Spiner (Star Trek), Melinda McGraw (Mad Men), Lee Tergesen (The Americans), Grace Zabriskie (The Killing) and Catherine Dent (The Shield) have joined the cast of the upcoming drama. Denman will play Mark Holter, Megan's (Wrenn Schmidt) husband, a small-town cop who can't forgive Kyle (Patrick Fugit) for his past transgressions. Spiner will play Sidney, who appears in Rome soon after Kyle and Anderson (Philip Glenister) successfully exorcise a little boy. McGraw will play Patricia MacCready, a single mother and devout member of Rome's Light of God Baptist Church. Tergesen will play Blake Morrow, a former police officer on death row for murdering his partner's wife. Zabriskie will play Mildred, one of the old guard parishioners at Anderson's church. Dent will play Janet Anderson, Anderson's ex-wife, who hates his obsession with battling the forces of darkness.
FOX's THE SIMPSONS
  • Modern Family star Sofia Vergara will lend her voice on the animated comedy's upcoming 27th season as Bart's new, highly attractive teacher. In the episode, she winds up in the middle of a romantic rivalry between Bart and Principal Skinner.
NBC's COACH
  • Morgan Smith - aka Red from the Wendy's commercials - has booked a series regular role on the upcoming revival of the hit 1990s sitcom. She will play Coach Fox's (Craig T. Nelson) daughter-in-law, who is married to Tim (Andy Ridings).
FOX's BONES
  • Dilshad Vadsaria (Greek, The Frankenstein Code) will reprise her role as Padme in the Season 11 premiere of the hit drama. It's currently unclear if Brendan Fehr - who plays her onscreen husband Jared Booth - will also appear in the episode.
AMAZON's MOZART IN THE JUNGLE
  • Boardwalk Empire alum Gretchen Mol will appear in eight episodes of the comedy's upcoming second season. She will play Nina Robertson, a veteran labor lawyer. This season the New York Symphony's contract is up for negotiation and they need a real badass to fight for them, so they bring in Robertson, who's just come off a big win for the NHL Players' Union.
AMAZON's BOSCH
  • Daya Vaidya (Unforgettable) has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming second season in a recurring role. She will play Jen Kowski, the Chief of Staff to Mayor Ramos.
SYFY's 12 MONKEYS
  • Jay Karnes (The Shield) and Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey) have been cast in a recurring roles on the drama's upcoming second season. Karnes will play Robert Gale, a 1940s FBI agent who believes James Cole (Aaron Stanford) is connected to a series of grisly murders. Coyle will play Dr. Benjamin Kalman, a former bioengineer racked with guilty over the deadly virus his team created.
NETFLIX's THE RANCH
  • Sam Elliott (Justified, Parks and Recreation) will co-star opposite Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson on the upcoming comedy series. He will play the father to Kutcher and Masterson's characters, a rancher who has a complicated relationship with his son (Kutcher) who left the family business to play semi-pro football and has now returned hoping to take over the ranch with his brother (Masterson).
CBS' CODE BLACK
  • Cress Williams (Hart of Dixie) and Gail O'Grady (NYPD Blue) will appear on the upcoming drama's first season. Williams will play the head of the residency program for the shift opposite Leanne's (Marcia Gay Harden), who may develop into a love interest for her. O'Grady will play the mother to two boys who are involved in a tragic drunk driving accident.
CBS' MOM
  • Emmy, Oscar and Tony winner Ellen Burstyn (Requiem for a Dream) will appear on an upcoming episode of the comedy's third season. She will play Shirley, Bonnie's (Allison Janney) biological mother who abandoned her at age four and hasn't seen her since. In the same episode, Oscar nominee June Squibb (Nebraska) will guest star as Dottie, Christy's (Anna Faris) idea of the perfect grandmother.
CBS' PERSON OF INTEREST
  • Sarah Shahi will return as a series regular for the drama's upcoming fifth season. She plays Shaw, who was written out of the show in the middle of Season 4 to accommodate Shahi's maternity leave. Of the shortened fifth season's 13 episodes, Shahi will likely appear in either eight or nine.
