ABC Family's Untitled Nicki Minaj Project and Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here.

ABC FAMILY's UNTITLED NICKI MINAJ PROJECT
  • The cable network has given a series commitment order to an untitled single camera comedy based on the life of Nicki Minaj. The series will shoot a pilot in New York later this winter, with the intention of doing more afterwards. Kate Angelo (Sex Tape) wrote the pilot, and will executive produce with Minaj, Aaron Kaplan, Stella Bulochnikov, Brian Sher and Gee Roberson. Kapital Entertainment will produce. The project follows Minaj and her family's immigration from Trinidad in the early 1990's. It will focus on her growing up in Queens with her vibrant family and the personal and musical evolution that led to her eventual rise to stardom.
SHOWTIME's I'M DYING UP HERE
  • Stephen Guarino (Happy Endings) has been cast on the dark comedy pilot written by Dave Flebotte. He will play Sully, a zany stand-up out of Chicago who is over-the-top to the point of tiresome.
