Comedy Central Gives Series Order to Comedy 'Detroiters' Starring Tim Robinson & Sam Richardson

Comedy Central has given a 10-episode series order to comedy Detroiters created by and starring Tim Robinson (Saturday Night Live) and Sam Richardson (Veep). Additional executive producers include Jason Sudeikis, Lorne Michaels, Joe Kelly and Zach Kanin. Broadway Video will produce.

The comedy revolves around Sam (Richardson) and Tim (Robinson), two small-time Detroit ad men who aspire to help turn their hometown back into the glittering jewel of the Midwest that it once was.

Sudeikis will appear in a recurring role throughout the season as a successful automotive executive Sam and Tim relentlessly pursue in an effort to land their first big-time client.

"The creative team on Detroiters is so ridiculously funny, we're not even sure we deserve them," said Kent Alterman, President, Comedy Central.

The pilot for Detroiters was shot on location in Detriot. It's unclear if series production will continue there or if it will move elsewhere.

The new comedy shouldn't interfere with Richardson's ability to continue as a series regular on HBO's Veep for the upcoming fifth season.
