Development News - Jordana Spiro Cast in a Lead Role on 'The Wilding'; Duo Board Lena Waithe Pilot; Plus 2 More Updates!

MTV's Untitled Nicole Byer Project; Showtime's Untitled Lena Waithe Project and USA's Shooter & The Wilding.

  • Jordana Spiro (My Boys, The Mob Doctor) has been cast in a lead role on the drama pilot written by Silka Luisa. She will play Margaret Hayes, a psychiatrist whose teenage daughter has ben diagnosed with a delusional disorder, though Kayla's true "condition" makes her the one patient Margaret can't save.
  • Tosin Cole (East Enders) and newcomer Kiki Layne have joined the cast of the drama pilot written by Lena Waithe. Cole will play Brandon, whose mother (Olivia Dawson) is an alcoholic, his brother is a street criminal, but he is a dishwasher at a fancy upscale restaurant and hopes to pass the test to be an assistant cook. Layne will play Keisha, Kevin's (Alex Henderson) older sister who is the current object of Emmett's (Tequan Richmond) affection, but doesn't care much for the fact that he already has three children by three other women.
  • Sophie von Haselberg, Fahim Anwar and Rachel Wilson have landed regular roles on the comedy pilot starring Nicole Byer. Haselberg will play Tess, a fun, unambitious and always down for an adventure woman who is bad influence on Nicole (Byer). Anwar will play Sidd, one of Nicole's closest friends since elementary school who learned early on to use his words instead of his fists to fend off bullies. Hilson will play Emily, the oldest of Sarah's (Kimrie-Lewis-Davis) children well-aware of the power of her considerable charms.
  • Tembi Locke (Dumb and Dumber To, The Magicians) has booked a recurring role on the drama pilot starring Ryan Phillippe. She will play Claire Hopkins, FBI Special Agent in Charge who operates by doing her job and doing it well.
