Casting News - Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Play Negan on 'The Walking Dead'; Cherry Jones Joins 'Transparent'; Plus 4 More Updates!

Amazon's Transparent; AMC's The Walking Dead; FOX's Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life & Rosewood; IFC's Portlandia; and NBC's Chicago Med.




AMC's THE WALKING DEAD
  • Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Good Wife, Extant) has been tapped to play the iconic comic book role of Negan on the hit drama series. Negan is the violent leader of a group known as The Saviors who use force and intimidation to subjugate other communities - including Alexandria. It is being said that he will first appear in the season six finale and then become a series regular for Season 7.
FOX's COOPER BARRETT'S GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE
  • Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) and Alan Ruck (Bunheads) will appear in an upcoming episode of the midseason comedy. They will play Mark and Cindy Barrett, the parents of Cooper (Jack Cutmore-Scott) and Josh Barrett (Justin Bartha).
AMAZON's TRANSPARENT
  • Emmy winner Cherry Jones (24, Awake) will guest star on the upcoming second season of the hit dramedy. No details were immediately released about the character she will be playing. Additionally, the steaming service has pushed back the season two premiere date to Friday, December 11 - as was revealed in the new season's teaser trailer.
FOX's ROSEWOOD
  • Alysia Reiner (Orange Is the New Black) has landed a recurring role on the drama's first season. She will play Lilian Izikoff, a former beauty queen who is also the unsupportive mother of Tara (Anna Konkle).
IFC's PORTLANDIA
  • The 10-episode sixth season of the hit comedy starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein will debut on Thursday, January 21 at 10/9c.
NBC's CHICAGO MED
  • Peter Mark Kendall (The Americans, The Leftovers) has been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming drama series. He will play Joey, a nerdy-cute lab tech with a sharp and sarcastic sense of humor. He will be a love interest for one of the main characters.
