Casting News - Taylor Spreitler to Co-Star on CBS' Kevin James Comedy; OWN's 'Queen Sugar' Casts Trio; Plus 2 More Updates!

CBS' American Gothic & Untitled Kevin James Comedy; OWN's Queen Sugar; and Starz's Black Sails.





OWN's QUEEN SUGAR
  • Dawn-Lyen Gardner (Unforgettable), Kofi Siriboe (Whiplash) and Omar J. Dorsey (Ray Donovan) have been cast on the upcoming drama series from Ava DuVernay. Gardner will play Charley Bordelon West, the charismatic and savvy manager and wife of a professional basketball star, with whom she has a challenging and conflicted relationship. She is originally from New Orleans but never seems to get the time to go back home in the midst of her busy, exciting and public life in Los Angeles. Siriboe will play Ralph Angel Bordelon, the youngest Bordelon sibling, formerly incarcerated and trying to make a new start while raising his 6-year-old son. Dorsey will play Hollywood Desonier, a rugged, resourceful man and the longtime boyfriend of Violet Bordelon who doesn't mind their 20 year age difference.
CBS' UNTITLED KEVIN JAMES COMEDY
  • Melissa & Joey star Taylor Spreitler has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming comedy starring Kevin James. She will play Kendra, Kevin's (James) once over-achieving, people-pleasing, daddy's girl whose been radicalized by college and now has her own independence and point of view.
CBS' AMERICAN GOTHIC
  • Virginia Madsen (Sideways) has been cast on the upcoming drama series created by Corinne Brinkerhoff. She will play Madeline, a warm, intelligent, patrician Boston matriarch who is fiercely protective of both her family and her social standing. Additionally, Matt Shakman (Fargo, The Good Wife) has been tapped to direct the first episode.
STARZ's BLACK SAILS
  • David Wilmot (Ripper Street) has landed a series regular role on the drama's upcoming fourth season. He will play Israel Hands, a bounty hunter.
