TNT's WILL
- Newcomer Laurie Davidson has landed the title role on the drama pilot written by Craig Pearce. Additionally, Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth) has signed on to direct the pilot. Davidson will play a young William Shakespeare, who arrives in the punk rock theater scene of 16th century London where his raw talent faces rioting audiences, religious fanatics and raucous side-shows. The series will expose his recklessness, lustful temptations and brilliance.
NBC's MARLON
- The broadcast network has ordered a pilot for multi-camera comedy Marlon inspired by the life of its star Marlon Wayans. The pilot will be written by Chris Moynihan, who will executive produce with Rick Alvarez and Michael Rotenberg. Wayans produces. Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment and Wayans Brothers Entertainment will produce. The project centers on an inappropriate but loving father (Wayans) committed to successfully co-parenting with his polar opposite ex-wife.
NBC's UNTITLED MATT HUBBARD PROJECT
- The network has also given a pilot order to an untitled single camera comedy written by Matt Hubbard. Hubbard will executive produce with Mike Schur. Universal Television and 3 Arts Entertainment will produce. The project centers on a guy learning how to manage the expectations and strong cultural traditions of his in-laws after he moves his family to his wife's hometown.
NBC's POWERLESS
- The third pilot order of the day for NBC is for single camera comedy Powerless written by Ben Queen. Michael Patrick Jann will also executive produce and direct the pilot. Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment will produce. Set in the DC Comics universe that's full of superheroes, villains and people just like us, the project is an office comedy about the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power.
ABC's THE JURY
- The broadcast network has also ordered a pilot tonight - for scripted drama The Jury written by VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli. Boyd will executive produce with Carol Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz. Bianculli is a co-executive producer. Sony Pictures Television and Carol Mendelsohn Productions will produce. The project follows a single murder trial as seen through the eyes of the individual jurors, exploring the biases and experiences that influence the jurors' judgment, and how their preconceptions change along the way.
