ABC's Quantico; CBS' Code Black; and FX's American Horror Story, Atlanta & Better Things.

  • The cable network has announced fall premiere dates for three of its shows today. Most surprisingly, the network is forgoing the traditional October premiere window for American Horror Story with the upcoming sixth installment (which is still untitled) set to begin on Wednesday, September 14 at 10/9c. The series debut of new comedy Atlanta starring Donald Glover will happen on Tuesday, September 6 at 10/9c. And finally, new comedy Better Things starring Pamela Adlon will premiere on Thursday, September 8 at 10/9c.
  • Blair Underwood (L.A. Law, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has joined the drama's upcoming second season as a new series regular. He will play Owen Hall, a character with an instant presence who is charming, direct and comfortable. He is the intelligent and inspirational CIA officer every fledgling operative wishes he or she could learn from. But is he running them, or using them for something else?
  • Rob Lowe (The West Wing, The Grinder) has been cast as a new series regular on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play Col. Ethan Willis, a doctor in the U.S. military's prestigious combat casualty care research program who has been pulled out of a combat hospital in Afghanistan and embedded at Angels Memorial to teach what the military has learned about combat medicine. His aggressive, rule-breaking style is greeted enthusiastically by Dr. Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden), but not by all the other doctors.
